Crumbs Of Rumor: Luke 5:1-11

This episode is a little different. We are covering Luke 5:1-11, I happened to be preaching on this piece of scripture this week and thought it would be cool to use the sermon as our crumbs this week.  This week we talk about the opportunities that God puts in front of us and what our fears are.  We also talk about the important of the Church and the Body of Christ.  I also use the scriptures in Ephesians 4:1-16 and Matthew 28:18-20.

Questions.

1. What are your fears about sharing Christ or inviting them to Church?

2.  What opportunities has God put in front of you to share Christ?  How did you respond to it?

3.  Are you excited about what God is doing in you and through your life?

4.  How did you see God at work in your life this week?

5. Are you ready and excited to have an "Out of Church experience"?

Luke 3-4:13

In this installment we cover John the Baptist paving the way for Jesus, and 2 very human experiences for Jesus, Baptism and Temptation.  This one is a little longer than normal, so hang in there with me we cover a lot of scripture!

1.  What Gospel message are you bringing to those around you?  What Gospel message is being brought to you?

2.  What temptations do you struggle with?  Where do you go when you are tempted?  How do you pick yourself up when you fall?

3.  Where have you seen God at work this week?

4. I had this as an afterthought, do you remember your Baptism?  Where was it, how old were you, why did you get baptized?  I encourage you to share your Baptism story with your children, friends, co workers, whichever works for you.

Luke's Gospel 1:26-2:52

In this installment we explore the birth of John the Baptist, the birth of Jesus Christ, and we see Jesus as a young boy.

1.  I want you to remember your birth story.  If you do not know it ask your parents.  Parents I encourage you to sit down with you little one and share those memories with them often.  Tell them what was going on, where you are work, or home.  What the weather was like.  Be open and honest about your emotions, where you terrified, or speechless.  Also share the encounters you had with friends, family, nurses, doctors, and possibly strangers.  Share with them those details I promise it will make an impact on their life.

2. Lets also reflect on our lives through 2:49.  Are we searching for Jesus in any other place than God’s House?  I don’t mean we can’t find Jesus outside of the church, but are we looking for him in people and things, drugs, alcohol, tv, sex, sports… and the list goes on.  Are we trying to find God in the things that matter or are we trying to find him in the things that make us feel good?

3.  Where have you seen God at work in your life this week?

Please share your questions and answers as well as your personal experiences.

Introduction to Luke's Gospel and Chapter 1:1-23

In this installment of Crumbs of Rumor, we will introduce the Who, What, When, Where, and Why, of Luke's Gospel. (I will always use the New Living Translation unless I specify differently.)

We will also look at the birth story of John the Baptist, (luke 1:1-23) and the doubt the surrounded a Godly man Zechariah.

I will ask you 3 questions;
1. If the Angel Gabriel or any other angel appear to you today, (1) what do you think they would look like, (2) would you believe they were an angel from God, (3) would you believe the message they brought you?

2.  I want to encourage you to share a moment in your life that you have struggled with doubt, and if or how it brought you closer to God?

3.  How have you seen God at work in your own life?

I encourage you to answer and ask questions as well as share your personal experiences below.
